Projects are all around us! In the project management community there have been a number of articles suggesting a “projectized economy” which refers to the fact that more and more organizations, worldwide, are delivering value through projects. Our economy is becoming dependent on the delivery of projects. Is your community ready? If not, let’s get going!
Project management is defined as the activity associated with organizing and planning tasks, and people, in order to deliver on the objectives of a project. Learning how to lead projects has become a critical element in a skill set that is in high demand. Project management skills have been identified by McKinsey as one of the Top 5 skills set for the future of work. This is also reflected in an article published by MIT Sloan Management Review where CEO’s were asked about their lessons learned from the COVID-19 experience. Not surprisingly, “get project management basics in place” was on the list of lessons learned.
In the Coursera Job Skills Report in 2021, project management skills were listed as one of the Top 10 trending business skills for 18 countries around the world! The future of work includes projects and having project management skills is advantageous for anyone looking to tackle new challenges and succeed in an exceedingly competitive environment. Everyone benefits from learning about project management. Everyone.
Offering a project management foundations course for the individuals, small businesses, and non-profits in your community will provide the participants with the boost they need to find a job, learn valuable skills, change careers, advance on their career path or elevate the level of success with internal projects.
